17th January 2009 Windsurfing: The Fludgers-felixstowe Wind Direction: wsw Wind Stength: 16+ Surf / Sea State: slight to mod Air Temperature: 7.5 Sea Temperature: 7 Weather: sunny Max Speed: 25.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 10.4 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) My first session of the year !!! so after the rain had stopped and the sun came out and with a balmy 7 degrees it was too good an opportunity to miss.With the wind being slightly off the Fludgers was the best bet and with 1/2 a doz on the beach it was great to sail in company with much talk on the beach about their planned trip to Tarifa later in the year !!! The hours sailing was good in the flatish sea although falling in took the breath away as the sea was v.cold. I started the day having breafast with Mag at Levington at low water to see it's speed potential which would be good in this direction if you are prepared to walk through a few hundred metres of mud,so I will give it go when it is abit windier and warmer !!! Lastly this is the first time I windsurfed with the new van and the diesel heater was worth every penny !!! |
